Cooks fourth in 60 meter hurdles and earns NCAA All-American honors

Aurora University sophomore hurdler Bobby Cooks finished fourth and achieved NCAA Division III All-American honors for his performance in the 60 meter hurdles in the 2016 NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships on Saturday, March 12 at Grinnell College in Grinnell, Iowa.

Cooks was making his second appearance at the NCAA Indoor Championships in the 60 meter hurdles in as many seasons. He ran an 8.03 in the finals which placed him fourth overall.

His finish this season came on the heals of his second place finish in 2015 which was the highest finish ever by an Aurora University track and field student-athlete and still is only the second runner-up finish by an AU team or individual with the other second-place finish coming in 1990 by the AU baseball program.

The AU track and field team now transitions to the outdoor schedule when they open up on Thursday, March 24 at the Augustana College Viking Open. Meet time is set for 12:00 p.m. in Rock Island, Illinois.
