- AU scored a run in the first inning with the aid of two North Park errors.
- North Park scored twice in the second inning to take a 2-1 lead.
- Spartan Dillon Popovich led off the fourth inning with a solo home run to center field.
- AU added another run in the inning with Harry Vickers reaching on a single, stole second and eventually scored on a suicide squeeze from Ryan Rybakowski.
- The AU lead was short lived as North Park scored three times in the bottom of the inning.
- AU's bats went silent the rest of the game and North Park added two more runs in the seventh to the eventual 7-3 final score.
