Spartans take on Cardinals in women's lacrosse action

The Aurora University women's lacrosse team returned to Naperville, Illinois and North Central College to take on the Cardinals in a contest that when originally scheduled was delayed due to weather. AU battled but fell to the Cardinals 16-13.

HOW IT HAPPENED
North Central scored the first six goals and led 6-0 over half way through the first half.
At 13:15 of the first, Andrea Colford scored to get the Spartans on the board, she was assisted by Lauren Whitfield.
North Central built their lead to 8-1 before the Spartans got rolling.
The Spartans out scored North Central 5-2 in the final minutes of the half with goals from Danielle Morgan, Chloe Madison, Kenny Hughes (2) and Colford.
At the half, the Spartans trailed 10-6.
AU opened the second half on a 4-0 run and tied the game 10-10. Morgan (2), Madison and Colford tallied the goals.
After a Kenny Hughes goal at 13:10 and the game tied 11-11, North Central ran off a 4-0 run to go ahead 15-11 with 7:30 to play.
Spartans Danielle Morgan and Lauren Whitfield scored in the final minutes but AU could pull no closer than the 16-13 final score.

Danielle Morgan had four goals, three assists, two ground balls and two caused turnovers.
Andrea Colford had three goals, one assist with two ground balls and two caused turnovers.
Kenny Hughes had three goals.
Allee Samuel had seven saves.
