HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Spartans scored twice in the first minute of the quarter on goals from
Matt Sammarco (
Alex Gebben) and
Max Matthai (
Jason Koziol).
-MSOE took one goal back to cut the score to one, 2-1 AU lead.
- AU did not go quietly scoring three goals from
Bailey Smith (
Trevor McNamara),
Trevor McNamara (
Bryce Wallgard) and,
Jason Koziol (
Matt Sammarco) to end the quarter leading 5-1.
- AU came out where they left off with a goal from
Jason Koziol assisted by
Matt Sammarco gives the Spartans 6-1.
- MSOE countered and with 11:29 left, the Spartans led 7-2.
- AU ignited again and the Spartans scored three unanswered to end the period,
Nick Glaser started the streak, followed by
Jason Koziol (McNamara) and finished by McNamara (
Jason Koziol). The Spartans led 9-2 going into halftime.
- The third quarter was quiet for the Spartans scoring two goals McNamara (Sammarco) and
Alex Gebben. MSOE scored once and the Spartans led 11-3 heading to the fourth quarter.
- MSOE grabbed three goals in the fourth and the Spartans defeated MSOE 11-6.
