Some of the top athletes from the Aurora University men's track team competed at the 2016 Drake Relays hosted at Drake Stadium in Des Moines, Iowa. The Drake Relays is one of the most competitive meets in the country having a multitude of heats that include some of the best high school, collegiate and professional track and field athletes in America.
Sophomore
Bobby Cooks competed in the Division one section of the 110 hurdles and took 17
th place with a stellar time of 14.50s. Senior
Kalmon Stokes put everything he had on the line for the Spartan Men by competing in three different events. Kalmon placed 7
th in the division one section of the 400m hurdles with a time of 52.17s barely missing his own school record. Kalmon also competed in the 4 by 400 meter relay and was joined by
Jaylen Robinson,
Terry Moore, and
Aaron Crawford. The group competed in the division three section and took 22
nd place with a time of 3:17. Kalmon ran the 400m leg of the distance medley relay and was joined by
Calvin Robinson (1200m),
Miroljub Marin (800m), and
Anthony Barrios. The group took 12
th place in the division three section with a time of 10:25.
With stellar performances across the board the Spartan Men have their sights set on defending their title at the NACC Outdoor conference championships this upcoming week.
