The Aurora University Spartan women's basketball team fell at Dominican University on Wednesday evening as the Spartans saw a double digit lead disappear in the 53-49 contest.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The first quarter saw the Spartans and Stars trade baskets and the lead with AU trailing 14-12 at the end of the opening session.
The second quarter was much like the first as the teams traded baskets early on. Late in the quarter, Dominican took a lead which they would have heading into halftime, 27-22.
Over the first five minutes of the third quarter, AU battled back and tied the contest up at 32-32.
The Spartans finished the third on a 10-0 run and led 42-32 at the end of three quarters.
AU opened up the fourth quarter with a lay-up from
Brianna Williams and led 44-32.
The Spartan offense went cold over the next almost nine minutes as Dominican ran off a 20-2 run and led the Spartans now 52-46.
AU got a late three pointer from
Alyssa Brems but it was not enough as the Spartans fell 53-49.
TOP SPARTAN PERFORMERS
Adriana Ramirez had a double-double with 17 points and 11 rebounds.
Alyssa Brems had 11 points and five assists.
Brianna Williams had 10 points off the bench.
