Women's Bowling competes in Midwest Classic

The Aurora University women's bowling team returned to action at the Kegel Illinois State BPA Midwest Collegiate Classic. The Spartans posted a 3-7 overall record for the weekend.

On Saturday, January 21, the schedule consisted of five traditional contests with the Spartans having a 1-4 record. AU opened with a loss to Wichita State University (757-1013) before grasping a win over Iowa State University (905-830). The AU women fell short to Midland University (753-855), Martin Methodist College (702-880) and Saginaw Valley (809-893) to finish day one of the tournament. Emma Davellis had the high game for the Spartans with a 202 against Midland University and also held the high series at 931 for the day.

The Spartans achieved two wins on day two of the Classic from five baker games which resulted in a 2-3 record for the day. The AU women received their two wins against Uruline College (621-545) and BLIND (613-0). The three losses for the day came from baker sets against University of Notre Dame (606-651), Iowa State University (569-506) and Emmanuel College (621-737).

The Spartan women are now 12-30 overall on the season. Next action for the Spartan women's bowling team comes on Saturday, February 11 and Sunday, February 12 at Backhaul Direct Hoosier Classic.
