Guards guide Spartans past road test at CUW

Aurora University men's basketball used big nights from guards Marcus Myers and Matt Dunn to hold off the Falcons of Concordia University WIsconsin on Tuesday night, winning 90-82.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Over the first 7:30 of the first-half, the teams traded baskets and leads.
- An 11-2 CUW run found the Spartans trail by eight (25-17) midway through the first-half.
- The Spartans answered with a 9-3 run with six points from Marcus Myers to pull within two (28-26) with eight minutes to go.
- A pair of free-throws from Matt Dunn at 5:26 gave AU a 32-31 lead.
- AU led by seven before taking a 45-40 lead into halftime.
- The Spartans trailed for a very short time early in the second-half but Dunn, Myers and the Spartan defense allowed for easy baskets at the rim.
- AU led for the final 13 minutes of the game and led by a game high nine points before winning by eight, 90-82.
 
FOR THE SPARTANS
- Marcus Myers had a double-double with a game-high 27 points and 13 rebounds.
- Matt Dunn had 22 points, six rebounds, four assists and three steals.
- Ty Carlson had 14 points and six rebounds.
- Max Vickers had 10 points and six rebounds.
