Spartans knock off #15 Concordia Wisconsin

The Aurora University men's hockey team knocked off the 15th ranked Falcons of Concordia Wisconsin on Friday night, scoring early and never looking back in winning 4-3.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Spartans scored first in the contest at 9:00 of the first with Tim Santopoalo grabbing his first tally of the season. He was assisted by Danny O'Donnell and Dan Zielecki.
- Later in the period and on a penalty kill, Rihards Marenis scored to give AU a 2-0 lead. He was assisted by Drew Doyon.
- The Spartans and goalie Josh Boyko took that 2-0 lead to intermission.
- After CUW scored early in the second, the Spartans answered with a power play tally. Josh Delezenne scored with assists from Liam Stirtzinger and Tony Pnewski.
- Later in the second after CUW had pulled within one goal again the Spartans quickly answered back. With 1:10 left in the second, Aaron Rochinsky scored with assists from Stirtzinger and Delezenne.
- AU led 4-2 through two periods.
- Midway through the third, CUW scored to pull within one (4-3) of the Spartans.
- AU's Josh Boyko and the defense made that lead hold up to allow AU to knock off the ranked Falcons.
