HOW IT HAPPENED
- The opening half saw the Spartans and Big Blue trade leads over the first 15 minutes and with 5 minutes to play, AU trailed 24-23.
- AU was out scored 13-5 in the final five minutes and trailed 37-28 heading into halftime.
- Six quick points from
Ty Carlson to start the second-half got the Spartans back in the game.
- AU continued to come back and a 13-3 run gave the Spartan a 41-40 lead with 16:01 to play.
- With 11 minutes to play, the game was tied 49-49.
- Millikin then grabbed the lead and with 2:52 to play, AU trailed 70-60.
- The Spartans would not head back north without a fight though and a 10-1 run was capped off with a
Matt Dunn three with 12 seconds to go.
- Millikin hit a free-throw with one second to play and held on to win 72-70.
