Spartans finish with a pair of ties against Gusties in weekend home stand

The Aurora University men's hockey team took on Gustavus Adolphus College in game two of a weekend home stand with the Gusties. The Spartans and Gusties played to a 3-3 overtime tie for the second time in as many games.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The first period was very evenly played with Gustavus scoring with 59 seconds left to take a 1-0 lead.
- The goal was the first scored outside of the second period in the games between both teams.
- As was the case the night before, the second period had lots of lamp lighting.
- Both teams scored twice as each scored even strength and on a power play.
- AU got goals from Brendan Logan and Tony Pnewski but trailed 3-2 after two.
- The Spartans tied the game midway through the third while on the power play. Tim Faulkner ripped a shot past the Gustie goalie for a 3-3 score.
- Both teams rattled the pipe more than once down the stretch but the game would remain tied 3-3.
- Overtime would not produce any more scoring as the teams played to yet another 3-3 tie.
