Spartans use second-half shooting surge to net Muskies

The Aurora University men's basketball used a strong shooting performance in the second-half to reel in the Muskies of Lakeland University 90-76 in a Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference road game.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The first-half was a back and forth affair with the score being tied seven times and five lead changes.
- At 12:31 of the first-half the game was tied 18-18. 
- The Spartans ran off a 9-0 spurt to lead 27-18 midway through the half.
- Lakeland battled back and a three ball with seconds left in the opening half gave the home Muskies a 43-42 halftime lead.
- A Max Vickers basket 23 seconds into the second-half was the last time AU trailed in the game.
- An 8-0 have the Spartans a 60-51 lead six minutes into the second-half.
- The Spartans continued to build the lead and controlled the remainder of the contest.
- AU did so by shooting 16-of-28 (57.1%) in the second-half. The hot shooting was despite the Spartans only going 1-of-10 from three-point range in that time frame.
- The Spartans won handily in Wisconsin, 90-76.
 
FOR THE SPARTANS
- Max Vickers had a double-double with 22 points and 10 rebounds.
- Marcus Myers had 20 points and five rebounds.
- Ty Carlson had 17 points and seven rebounds.
- Sean Davis had 14 points on six-of-seven shooting from the field off the bench.
- Matt Dunn had nine assists, eight rebounds, six points and three blocked shots.
