The Aurora University Spartan women's basketball team lost a closely played road Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference contest at Lakeland University on Saturday evening, 61-54.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Spartans used the three ball to jump out to an early lead on the Muskies, 10-3.
- AU led throughout the first quarter and were up 18-17 after one.
- Lakeland then switched the script in the second quarter, leading the entire session following the first basket.
- A 5-0 AU run in the final two minutes had the Spartans down 30-29 going to halftime.
- The third quarter remained closely played and a three point basket by
Alyssa Brems with 14 seconds to play in the quarter gave the Spartans a 44-43 lead after three periods.
- With six minutes to go in the game, the score was tied 48-48.
- Down the stretch, turnovers did in AU as they were out scored 13-6 and fell 61-54.
