The Aurora University women's hockey team played their final game of the 2017 portion of their schedule on Saturday afternoon at Fox Valley Ice Arena. AU welcomed Chatham University for the non-conference match-up and the two tied 1-1. The Spartans got a goal with 2:34 left in the game to knot the game and unleash the Toys for Tots Teddy Bears.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- 5:02 into the game, Chatham took a 1-0 lead. A turnover in the defensive zone led to a point blank scoring chance for the visitors.
- The teams played a scoreless second period but the Spartans had numerous quality scoring chances.
- The third period was much like the second as AU continued to pressure the visitors but just couldn't find the back of the net.

Olivia Monzel moving quickly up ice. Monzel sent a wicked wrister past the Chatham goalie for the game tying goal.
- The AU crowd sent 22 Teddy Bears on to the Fox Valley Ice just before the game went to overtime.
- In overtime, Spartan
Nicole McKernan blasted the pipe with a shot but the game remained tied.
- The game would end in a 1-1 score.
