The Aurora University women's basketball team defeated the visiting Eagles of Edgewood College 62-53 as AU celebrated senior day prior to tip-off. The victory wrapped up the 2016-2017 season for the Spartans.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Spartans opened up the game and led 5-0 three minutes into the game.
With 2:30 to play in the first, AU trailed Edgewood 9-8.
Five points from Ally Van Bogaert led AU back and to a 16-13 lead after one quarter played.
The Spartans then opened the second quarter on a 9-3 run, capped by a three from senior Alex Hultine and led 25-16.
Edgewood was able to cut into the AU lead as the Spartans went into halftime leading 25-20.
The Spartans built on their lead and grew it to 15 points in the third quarter.
Adriana Ramirez scored 10 of her 14 points in the Spartans run to take control of the game.
Early in the fourth quarter, Edgewood brought the score to within seven (47-40).
As they had done all game, the Spartans answered. This time Meija Rabi scored eight points as the Spartans pushed their lead back to double digits.
AU went on to win 62-53.

Adriana Ramirez had 14 points and eight rebounds.
Meija Rabi had 12 points.
Alyssa Brems had 11 points and seven assists.
Ally Van Bogaert had 10 points.
