The teams played an up and down opening 20 minutes with both teams having scoring chances but both goalies keeping the net clean.
AU was out shot in the opening session 12-3.
The second period saw Lake Forest control the action out shooting AU 11 to 4.
Spartan
Max Kirkwood made several key saves to keep the score 0-0 through two periods.
The lone goal of the game came at 11:43 of the third period with Lake Forest scoring on a power play.
AU had multiple chances late but did not capitalize in the 1-0 loss.
