The Aurora University men's lacrosse team jumped out to a big first-half lead and held on to knock off John Carroll University 9-6.

HOW IT HAPPENED
AU scored 16 seconds into the game with
Sam Hiss recording the tally.
With the game tied,
Bailey Smith gave AU a lead they would not relinquish at 4:41 of the first quarter.
JK Torres assisted on the goal.
A man-up goal from
Jason Koziol and assist from
Matt Sammarco just before the end of the first quarter gave AU a 3-1 lead.
JCU scored the first goal of the second which was followed by four straight tallies from the Spartans.
Ben Arends had two,
JK Torres with one and Koziol added one.
Heading into halftime, AU led 7-2.
Both teams scored once in the third quarter with the Spartan goal coming from
Sean Arfsten.
Koziol picked up the hat trick at 9:49 of the fourth and AU led 9-3.
JCU scored the games final three goals but AU held on for the 9-6 victory.
