The Aurora University men's lacrosse team used a big fourth quarter rally to defeat Kenyon College 18-15 on Wednesday afternoon on the Kenyon campus.

HOW IT HAPPENED
AU's
Bailey Smith opened up the games score with a tally 1:22 into the contest.
The Spartans built a 4-2 lead with 9:56 to play when
Corey Segall won the face-off and scored.
Kenyon scored the final four goals of the first quarter to lead 6-4.
The two teams traded goals in the second with AU getting tallies from
Trevor McNamara,
Nick Glaser and
Joey Lucchesi.
In the third, AU fell behind 11-7 before McNamara scored a man-up goal.
Two more Kenyon goals put the Spartans behind 13-8 with 5:36 to play.
Spartan
Corey Segall responded immediately though as he once again won the face-off and scored to start the AU comeback.
A
Ben Arends goal pulled the Spartans to within three at 13-10 at the end of the third quarter.
AU opened the fourth with three goals (Smith,
Jason Koziol and
JK Torres) in the first 4:48 to tie the game 13-13.
After a Kenyon tally, Torres and
Ryan Griffin scored to give the Spartans their first lead since midway through the first quarter.
With the game tied and time ticking away, AU went to a man-up following a face-off violation. Spartan
Matt Sammarco found the back of the net on a laser of a shot. He was assisted from
Bailey Smith.
As the Spartans worked to run out the clock in the final minutes, Torres and McNamara scored for the 18-15 AU win.
FOR THE SPARTANS
AU out-scored Kenyon 8-2 in the fourth quarter to win the contest.
JK Torres had three goals and three assists on the day.
Trevor McNamara had four goals.
Bailey Smith had two goals and one assist.
Matt Sammarco had one goal and two assists. His goal was the game-winning goal with 2:26 left in the fourth.
