MIVA has announced the first ever Hall of Fame Class

The Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association (MIVA) announced the league's inaugural Hall of Fame class on Monday, April 10, 2017. The 11-member class is made up of some the most influential student-athletes, coaches and administrators in the league's history with which members from George Williams College now affiliated with Aurora University are included.

Jim Coleman, a George Williams College alum and coach Marvin Veronee, have been inducted as part of the inaugural MIVA Hall of Fame class.

Dr. Jim Coleman, a teacher, coach and friend to George Williams College and one of the most respected men in volleyball both domestically and internationally. During his time, Jim touched the lives of so many in the volleyball world.  Dr. Jim Coleman coached at George Williams College in 1973, 1974 and 1976, winning the NAIA National Championship in 1974 and was also member of the Volleyball Hall of Fame.

Marvin Veronee coached at George Williams College and led the Men's Volleyball team to three consecutive MIVA regular season titles from 1961-63 in the conference's first three years. In addition, Veronee was named the 1968 MIVA Coach of the Year.

The group will be honored Friday, May 5, 2017 in Columbus Ohio on the day between the NCAA men's volleyball semifinal and national championship match.

Aurora University and one of their newest sport additions of men's volleyball will have their inaugural season on Saturday, January 13, 2018 at North Central College. AU men's volleyball's first home action will come in a tri-match in Thornton Gymnasium on Saturday, January 27, 2018.
