The Aurora University Spartan baseball team took on Marian University in a NACC doubleheader and swept the Sabres, winning 4-2 and 9-8.

SPARTAN HIGHLIGHTS - GAME ONE
- A lead-off triple from Jeff Mayes was followed by four more singles and AU scored three runs in the first for a 3-0 lead.
- Marian took advantage of an AU error to score once in the fourth and AU led 3-1.
- A lead-off walk by Ty Jaquez in the fourth led to the fourth AU run as Jaquez stole second and later scored on an infield single from Cody Gregory.
- Marian added a run in the seventh but AU led still, 4-2.
- Spartan Michael Fidler relieved Chris Roycroft and earned a two inning save as Roycroft won his fifth game of the season.

SPARTAN HIGHLIGHTS - GAME TWO
- AU started fast again in game two, scoring on a double from Jeff Woods and singles from Cole Davis and Adam Lipscomb to lead 2-0.
- Marian scored twice in the third to tie the game 2-2.
- A Fidler lead off double started a rally as he later scored on a sac fly out from Lipscomb and AU led again 3-2.
- Four singles and a big Sabre error helped AU scored four runs in the fourth to lead 7-2.
- Five Marian hits plated three runs in the fifth and AU now led only 7-5.
- A two-run double from Cody Gregory was the AU answer in the bottom of the fifth and AU now led 9-5.
- Marian scored single runs in the seventh, eighth and ninth but was not enough to overcome AU.
- Spartan John Barnes came in and got out of a bases loaded jam in the eighth to preserve the lead and eventually the win.
