The Aurora University women's lacrosse team fell in a Midwest Women's Lacrosse Conference match-up at Illinois Institute of Technology 9-8 in overtime.

HOW IT HAPPENED
AU jumped out to a 3-0 lead behind two quick goals from
Kaylyn Gilmer and one from
Lauren Whitfield.
With 11:25 left in the opening half,
Andrea Colford gave AU a 4-2 lead with an assist from
Kenny Hughes.
IIT scored three goals, two with a woman up to lead 5-4 late in the opening half.
Just before half, AU's Colford tied the game, sending the teams to halftime tied 5-5.
After IIT built a 7-5 lead with just over 10 minutes to play, the Spartans and Colford awoke.
Colford scored three times with the go ahead goal coming with 3:04 to play.
With 0.8 seconds to play in the game, IIT scored a game tying goal, sending the contest to overtime.
1:17 into the extra session, IIT scored to defeat the Spartans 9-8 in overtime.
FOR THE SPARTANS
Andrea Colford had five goals and three draw controls.
Kaylyn Gilmer had two goals.
AU lost both
Kenny Hughes and
Taylor Arcivar in the second-half due to yellow cards.
