The Aurora University men's lacrosse team hosted Concordia University Wisconsin in a Midwest Lacrosse Conference showdown Wednesday afternoon. For the first time in over two years, the Spartans lost a home contest, falling to CUW 11-9.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Spartans opened up the games scoring with a
Trevor McNamara goal at 11:22 of the first quarter.
For the remainder of the first and midway through the second quarter, CUW took it to the Spartans, scoring four unanswered goals to lead 4-1.
AU's
Jason Koziol scored a pair of unassisted goals at 7:30 and 6:35 to pull the Spartans to down 4-3.
After a CUW goal,
Joey Lucchesi scored on an assist from
JK Torres and AU was down 5-4.
CUW finished the first-half with two goals to lead 7-4 at intermission.
In the third quarter, AU responded from the deficit and tied the game on three unanswered tallies from McNamara (two) and
Bailey Smith.
Heading into the fourth, AU and CUW were tied 7-7.
McNamara scored his fourth of the game seven seconds after CUW took the lead to tie the game again at 8-8.
CUW scored two goals to build their lead back to 10-8 midway through the fourth.
With 4:28 to go, Koziol scored on an assist from McNamara and AU trailed by one at 10-9.
The Spartans pressured CUW and peppered the Falcon keeper but he stood tall, making numerous A+ saves.
With 0.5 second to go in the game, CUW added a goal for the 11-9 final score.
OUTSIDE THE BOX
AU lost a home game for the first time since March 28, 2015, a 12-8 loss to Whittier College.
The loss snaps a 24-game home win streak.
AU lost their first Midwest Lacrosse Conference regular game in over five years with the last MLC loss coming on April 7, 2012 at Adrian College 8-7.
The MLC loss snaps a 43-game regular season MLC win streak.
The Spartans control their own destiny though as they would share the MLC title with a victory at Beloit College on Saturday night.

Trevor McNamara had four goals and two assists.
Jason Koziol had three goals and one assist.
Corey Segall went 16-of-21 in face offs and added one assist.
AU out shot CUW 45 to 19 and won 17-of-23 face offs in the game.
