Women's lacrosse win second in a row in Iowa

The Aurora University women's lacrosse team defeated Loras College in a Midwest Women's Lacrosse Conference match-up 15-9. The Spartans final contest before the upcoming MWLC Tournament

HOW IT HAPPENED
Loras scored two goals in between an AU goal from Kenny Hughes.
Goals from Lauren Whitfield, Andrea Colford and Hughes gave AU a 4-2 lead with 13:16 to play in the first-half.
The game was tied 4-4 with 10 minutes to play after a pair of Loras goals.
Four goals in the final minutes of the opening half gave AU an 8-4 lead. Goals came from Taylor Arcivar, Hughes (two) and Whitfield.
Loras scored just before the half to send the teams to halftime with AU leading 8-5.
A pair of Loras goals to start the second half cut the AU lead to 8-7.
AU tallies from Hughes and Whitfield pushed the AU lead back to three at 10-7 with over 22 minutes left.
Once again, Loras responded with two goals of their own to see AU lead by one, 10-9.
But the Spartans finished the game and final 18 minutes on a 5-0 run with Kendall Urban scoring three times and a pair of tallies from Taylor Arcivar.
When the final horn sounded, AU won 15-9.

FOR THE SPARTANS
Kenny Hughes had five goals and one assist.
Lauren Whitfield had three goals and two assists.
Taylor Arcivar had three goals and one assist.
Kendall Urban had three goals.
Andrea Colford had one goal, three assists, nine draw controls and five ground balls.
Reilly Armstrong earned the win with nine saves.
