The Aurora University men's lacrosse team were absolutely dominating on senior day while they hosted the Vikings of Augustana College. AU took a 12-1 lead to halftime and senior day recognition which included a wedding proposal before going on to win 18-2.

HOW IT HAPPENED
AU wasted no time in scoring and they scored a lot. Four goals in the first five minutes from
Bailey Smith,
Trevor McNamara,
Joey Lucchesi and a man-up goal from
Matt Sammarco. McNamara assisted on two of the goals.
McNamara dished out assists to
Jason Koziol and
Ben Arends (man-up) and AU led 6-0. The Koziol goal was a beautiful dime pass with Koziol squeezing in a bad angle shot and goal.
Just before the end of the first quarter,
Bailey Smith assisted McNamara who flipped the shot between his leg and past the Viking goalie for a 7-0 Spartan lead.
The second quarter started slower but AU kept scoring with
Ben Arends getting his second of the game at 9:53.
AU was killing off a second consecutive penalty when
JK Torres found Koziol in front of the net and AU had a man down goal and led 9-0Â midway through the second quarter.
43 seconds later Koziol scored again with an assist from
Bailey Smith and AU led by a touchdown and field goal on Vago Field.
With 3:41 left in the second, Augustana was finally able to get one past AU goalie
Tyler Lombardi. Lombardi made numerous grade A saves and Augustana hit the post on several occasions.
AU added two goals 31 seconds a part in the final minutes to lead 12-1 at the half.

WIll Bradshaw capped off the halftime event by proposing to fellow Spartan Jillian Olson at midfield, bringing the near capacity crowd from both sides to their feet.
AU continued to dominate in the second half with third quarter goals from Koziol (3), Smith and McNamara.
Kyle Lowy assisted the first Koziol goal with the duo scoring on a fast break.
Spartan
Casey Pettine tallied the only goal of the fourth quarter with an assist from
Tanner Lerdahl.
The Spartans celebrated the 18-2 victory.
