The Midwest Lacrosse Conference (MLC) announced the 2017 All-Conference Team and postseason awards with the AU Spartans being prominent members throughout.
AU senior attackman
Jason Koziol was named the MLC Offensive Player of the Year and was joined by five Spartan teammates on the MLC First-Team All-Conference Team.
Additionally, the Spartans had three players on the All-Conference Second-Team and two players on the Honorable Mention Team. AU won its fifth consecutive MLC Tournament Championship and will make their fifth straight NCAA Division III Men's Lacrosse Championships appearance.
As the MLC Offensive Player of the Year for the second consecutive season, Koziol leads the Spartan offensive attack with 80 points on 55 goals, 25 assists and six of goals have come with a man-up.
Joining Koziol as a First-Team selections were senior short-stick midfielder
Will Bradshaw, sophomore defender
Bryce Wallgard, junior face-off specialist
Corey Segall, junior long-stick midfielder
Sam Hiss and sophomore midfielder
Ben Arends.
Bradshaw has two goals, two assists, 37 ground balls and 11 caused turnovers; Wallgard has a team-leading 28 caused turnovers with 31 ground balls and two assists; Segall is 247-of-334 in face-offs with 158 ground balls, six goals and four assists; Hiss has four goals, one assist with 30 ground-balls and 20 caused turnovers; and Arends has 26 goals and 16 assists with six of his goals coming with a man-up.
Second-Team All-Conference honors went to senior attackman

Trevor McNamara and junior midfielder
Joey Lucchesi. Smith has a team-leading 57 goals, 12 assists and four of his goals have come with a man-up; McNamara has a team-leading 86 points with 43 goals and 43 assists; and Lucchesi has 24 goals with three assists as six of his goals have come with a man-up.
The Spartan honorable mention all-conference recipients are sophomore goalkeeper
Tyler Lombardi junior defender
Chad Ronk. Lombardi has an 18-2 record with 160 saves and a 6.64 goals against average and Ronk has one assist with 20 ground balls and six caused turnovers. Senior
Dustin Rhodes also was selected to the MLC All-Sportsmanship Team.
The Aurora University men's lacrosse team is currently 18-2 overall and will make its fifth appearance in the NCAA Division III Men's Lacrosse Championships when they host Illinois Wesleyan University (15-3) and take on the Titans on Wednesday, May 10. Game time has been announced as a 2:00 p.m. start on Vago Field in Aurora, Illinois. The Spartans were the 2017 regular season (shared) and tournament champions in the MLC and went 7-1 in the MLC regular season.
