The Aurora University men's soccer program welcome the University of Dubuque in a battle of Spartan supremacy on Sunday afternoon on Vago Field. The closely played contest was a nailbiter throughout as AU reigned victorious 3-2.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- 2:39 into the game, AU took advantage of a Dubuque miscue. The UD goalkeeper misplayed a ball which AU's
Christian Duarte grabbed and scored for an early 1-0 lead.
- AU was the early aggressor on offense as AU continued to push the pace. A tackle in the box awarded AU a penalty kick at 15:16. AU's
Xavier Ortiz was successful and AU now led 2-0.
- The 2-0 lead held up heading into the halftime intermission.
- The second-half found the visiting Spartans from Dubuque become the aggressors and in the 61st minute, a cross was headed into the AU net by a Spartan defender and AU now led 2-1.
- In the 77th minute, an inadvertent hand ball just outside the top of the box by AU's
Jake Sheldon gave Dubuque a free kick which they capitalized on an the game was tied 2-2.
- Just over three minutes later, AU went back on the attack and
Ian Connelly was drug down inside the box which resulted in a Dubbuque red card and another AU penalty kick chance.Â

Collin Foreman took the PK and was successful in giving AU the 3-2 lead.
- The slight margin held up in the final 9 minutes as AU claimed victory 3-2.
