The Aurora University women's hockey team remained on the road with the opening game of a weekend series at Trine University. The Spartans and Thunder are both in the first year of their respective programs. Trine defeated AU 3-1.

- The first period saw all of the games scoring.
- AU trailed 2-0 after Trine scored an early even strength goal and followed with a power play goal at 12:04.
- The Spartans got on the board at 14:34 when
Brenna Hannon scored a short handed tally and she was assisted by
Hannah Gwillim,
- Trine scored two minutes later and took a 3-1 lead into intermission.
- The Spartans out shot Trine 16-15 the final two periods but neither team could beat the opposing goalies.
