Lancaster Court in Thornton Gymnasium on the campus of Aurora University was the site of a historical first for Spartan athletics on Saturday afternoon. For the first time in school history, AU welcomed men's volleyball to the Aurora campus. The first-year program welcomed Augustana College and Illinois Institute of Technology for a tri-match. The Spartan were victorious, winning both sets by 3-0 scores in exciting fashion. A lively home crowd was on hand for the first ever home game and prior to the contest, AU's Senior Vice President for Student Life Dr, Lora deLacey was on hand to present a ceremonial first ball.
