The Aurora University Spartan women's basketball team took to the road to defeat the Dominican University Stars 69-59 on Thursday night.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- AU took an early 5-2 lead on a three from
Alyssa Brems and would not trail again in the game.
- The Spartans built a 10 point lead and took a 21-13 lead into the second quarter.
- AU held the lead in the second but had to stave off a Star come back that pulled the game within three at 34-31 late in the quarter.
- Four points in the final minute from Brems pushed the lead back to seven at 38-31 heading into half.
- Brems had 12 points in the opening half while
Julie Galauner had eight.
- Defense by the Spartans was in order in the third quarter as AU held Dominican to just four points,out scoring the host 19-4 to lead 56-35.

Bri Hall led AU with six points in the third.
- The Spartans held the games largest lead of 25 points (62-37) with 7 minutes to go in the game.
- Dominican scored several baskets very late in the game to cut the final score to 69-59 but AU was in complete control of the contest.
