The Aurora University men's soccer team celebrated the senior class prior to kickoff with the Eagles of Benedictine University on Tuesday night. The Spartans clamped down defensively after taking an early lead. AU made the lead stand with a 1-0 shutout.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The match started out in true AU-BU fashion, the two teams displayed what the rivalry means when they exchanged shots and possessions with neither scoring.
- In the 27th minute AU scored the game's only goal when senior Jake Lysik sent a long pass to
Justin Rutherford in front of the net. Rutherford one touched the ball to
Kyle Seymour who booted the ball home.
- The remainder of the game showed much of the same with both teams giving their all to find the net.
- While it appeared AU may have lost the momentum late in the game, their defense stood strong to blank the Eagles and preserve the win.
- AU defeated Benedictine University 1-0 on senior nightÂ
