Pfosi posts shutout as Spartans blank Green Knights

The Aurora University women's hockey team posted a 1-0 shutout victory over St. Norbert College at the BMO Center in Rockford on Friday afternoon with goalie Chiara Pfosi stoned 31 shots in the winning effort.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The first period saw the Spartans and Green Knights go scoreless with both goalies making key saves in the session.
- Late in the second period (16:55) AU freshman Sarah Chan scored to give the Spartans a 1-0 lead. Olivia Matson assisted on the play.
- AU took a 1-0 lead into the second intermission as goalie Chiara Pfosi and the Spartan defense locked down on the Green Knights.
- The third period saw both teams have prime scoring chances get stopped by the opposition goalie as the score remained 1-0 AU.
- Late in the third, with 3:33 on the clock, Spartan Lexie Martinez got free on a break-away but the Green Knight goalie made a sprawling pad save to keep the contest a one goal game.
- Pfosi and the Spartans withstood an extra Green Knight attacked for the final minute and posted a shutout victory, 1-0.
