Overtime was needed on Lancaster Court in Thornton Gymnasium but the Spartan men prevailed over the Lakeland University Muskies 94-89.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• - The Spartans were behind for the majority of the first half, and didn't get the lead until the last three minutes of the first half
• - AU went on a 16-7 run to regain the lead prior to finishing the half leading 42-40
• - Spartans came out in the second half with a much better tempo, keeping a close lead for almost the entire half.
• - With 11:06 to go, AU led 59-53 and looked to be in command of the game.
• - Lakeland though started an 18-7 run and led by five, 71-66 with 5:29 to go.
• - Trailing 77-72 with 2:20 to go, the Spartans went on a 9-4 run to finish regulation time and the score was tied 79-79
• - AU never trailed in overtime and out scored Lakeland 6-1 in the final minute for the 94-89 win.

 
FOR THE SPARTANS
- Marcus Myers had a double-double of 31 points, 15 rebounds and added four assists.
- Matt Dunn had 22 points, four rebounds and two assists.
- Max Vickers had 19 points, six rebounds and three assists.
