The Aurora University men's volleyball team won their first Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference match over Marian University on Friday evening in Wisconsin, winning in four close sets 3-1.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- AU took a 15-9 lead in the opening set before a 7-0 run by Marian gave the Sabres the lead.
- The teams traded points before Marian won the final three to win 27-25.
- The second set saw AU take a late 19-12 lead but again Marian stormed back into the set.
- Tied 25-25, AU won the last two points which included a kill by
Justin Elliott to win the set and tie the match 1-1.
- The third set saw the Spartans trailing now a 18-13 and needing a comeback.
- Facing set point (24-21), the Spartans won seven of the final nine points to win 28-26 and take a 2-1 match lead.
- In the fourth set again AU found themselves trailing, this time 17-13.
- The Spartans reeled off a 12-2 run and won 25-19 and the match 3-1.
