The Aurora University men's volleyball team went a full five sets to complete the weekend sweep of the northern leg of the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference schedule, defeating Lakeland University 3-2 (21-25, 25-23, 24-26, 27-25, 15-12)

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- In the opening set, AU and Lakeland were tied 15-15 before the home Muskies pulled away for the 25-21 win.
- AU grabbed an early lead in the second set (6-5) and never trailed with Lakeland keeping the set close. AU won 25-23.
- The third set saw AU fall behind 7-1, 10-3 and 15-11 before mounting a furious rally.
- The Spartans tied the third set 24-24 but Lakeland won in the end 26-24.
- Facing a match ending set for the Spartans, AU and the Muskies went blow for blow in the fourth set. The set had 17 ties before the Spartans won the last two points to win 27-25 and send the match to a deciding fifth set.
- In the fifth set, the Spartans trailed early but came back to tie the score 8-8. From there the teams traded points to 12-12 when AU took control of the set.
- Three Lakeland errors before a
Tim Breiter kill sealed the set 15-12 and the match 3-2.
