The Aurora University baseball team swept through the two day Wheaton Invitational, defeating Wheaton College in the final game of the series 10-5.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- AU fell behind 2-0 after one inning.
- The Spartans cut the deficit in half in the second. A one-out walk to Austin Wiskow produced a run after he stole second and later scored on an AJ Gill single.
- The score remained 2-1 Wheaton heading into the fourth when the AU offense erupted, all with two outs.
- With two outs and runners on second and third, Colin Rivard singled to score Bryan Larsen and Paul Dobravec. With the runs, AU led 3-2 but was not done. The Spartans would add on four more runs, courtesy of walks and some Wheaton defensive miscues.
- AU added three more runs in the fifth on three hits. Rivard drove in a run and later scored one.
- Wheaton added a run each in the fifth, sixth and ninth but the Spartan defense and pitching kept the Thunder at length for the 10-5 win.

SPARTAN HIGHLIGHTS
- Colin Rivard was three for five with three runs batted in and two runs scored.
- John Barnes improved to 1-2 on the year,throwing five innings and striking out four.
- AJ Gill was two for four with one run scored and one run batted in.
- AU pounded out 14 hits in the victory.
