Spring trip baseball was in the air on Tuesday in Auburndale, Florida as the Aurora University Spartans fell to Fontbonne University 19-9.

HOW IT HAPPENED -
- AU fell behind 1-0 in the top of the first inning.
- The Spartans answered in the bottom of the inning with five runs on five hits and batted around. Jett Wedekind hit a two run triple as the big hit of the inning.
- The 5-1 lead would not last long though as Fontbonne scored eight times in the second and went on to add eight more runs in the third, fourth and fifth to lead the Spartans 17-5 through 4-1/2 innings.
- Trailing 19-5 going to the bottom of the seventh, the Spartans showed life as they pushed across four runs but the inning would end with AU down 10 and the mercy rule was enacted.
