Spartan men recapture NACC Outdoor Championship

The Aurora University men's track team won the 2018 Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championship in Lisle,Illinois on the campus of Benedictine University in thrilling fashion. The NACC Championship returns home to AU after a short hiatus..

AU Head Coach Brandon Sturman was named the 2018 NACC Outdoor Men's Coach of the Year as his Spartans scored 204.5 points, out-scoring the two-time defending champions and odd on favorites from Benedictine by 17.5 points.
 
Four Spartans were NACC Individual Champions.
- Brandon Pichen in the weight throw.
- Carl Way in the 3,000 meter steeplechase
- Sean Ganey in the pole vault
- The 4x400 meter relay team - David Crumpley / Anthony Barrios / Carl Way / Steven Ruffin

As a team, AU scored points in all but one of the 21 events.

Next action for the Spartan women's track and field team comes on Thursday, May 10 and Friday, March 11 when individuals compete in the Dr. Keeler Last Chance Meet at North Central College in Naperville, Illinois. Events begin at 11:45 am on Thursday and 3:00 p.m. on Friday.
