The Aurora University Spartan men's soccer team fell to the visiting Pioneers of University of Wisconsin-Platteville 2-1 in a hotly contested non-conference match-up.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Spartans found themselves trailing in the sixth minute when a Spartan penalty led to a free kick that found the back of the net.
- AU responded right away with a goal of their own in the eighth minute. A cross from Jacob Lysik found Nicholas Rohl in the middle of the box where he put the biscuit in the basket to tie the score at 1-1.
- The remainder of the first half saw a defensive battle where both teams shared control of the center of the field. AU remained tied 1-1 with the University of Wisconsin-Platteville at the end of the first half.
- The 1-1 tie continued to the 61^st minute until the Pioneers scored after multiple shots and with a loose ball in the middle of the box. AU trailed the University of Wisconsin-Platteville 2-1
- An AU red card in the 62^nd minute left the team at a one man disadvantage for the remainder of the game.
- In the 71^st minute AU nearly tied the game when Collin Foreman took a shot from the top right corner of the box that hit off the cross bar. AU trailed 2-1 with 19 minutes remaining.
- The Spartans continued their offensive pressure for the remainder of the game but could not put the ball in the net. AU lost to the University of Wisconsin-Platteville 2-1.
