Spartans swing past Sabres in 3-0 win

The Aurora University women's volleyball team coasted to a 3-0 Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference victory over the visiting Sabres of Marian University. The Spartans won 25-14, 25-15, 25-14 to improve to 3-0 in #NACCtion.

RECORDS: Aurora University 8-5 overall and 3-0 NACC; Marian University 6-8 overall and 2-2 in the NACC

HOW IT HAPPENED -
- The Spartans grabbed the lead early in the opening set, forcing a pair of Marian timeouts with the score 14-4 AU.
- The Spartans then continued with the hot hands, hitting at .385 for the set and won 25-14. Katie Vondra had five kills with Imani Freeman knocking down four.
- In the second set, AU and Marian were tied 8-8 before AU created some breathing room. But the visitors pulled back within one at 16-15. 
- AU closed out the set on a 9-0 wun with Makayla Fincher at the service line. Vondra and Lindsey Simpson each had a pair of kills in the final run.
- The Spartans pulled away early in the third and final set as the hosts hit a match best .450 in the set. Hannah Lanasa, Freeman and Vondra all had three kills in the final set.
