The Aurora University women's soccer team got their first win of the season in dramatic fashion Bob Bautista Invitational at Wheaton College. The Spartans defeated Thomas More College 2-1 in overtime on a goal from
Alexis Abelove.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- AU took a 1-0 lead in the 22nd minute when
Beth Grotelueschen took a throw in and found
Giselle Torres who found the back of the net.
- AU led 1-0 at the end of the first half.
- With 1:20 left in the game, Thomas More scored to tie the game and force overtime.
- 7:39 into overtime, Spartan
Alexis Abelove put a shot on net and when the ball hit the post and went in, AU was victorious 2-1.
- The win is the first collegiate Head Coaching win for Spartan Head Coach
Shannon DeNinno.
