The Aurora University men's hockey team returned home for the first time in 2019 and suffered a 5-1 loss to Trine University.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Spartans and Thunder were scoreless for a majority of the opening period until a breakdown allowed a Trine tally late in the first period.
- AU found themselves trailing 3-0 after the first two periods with two goals allowed in a span of 1:20. Defensive zone turnovers were a key factor in the two second period goals.
- After the deficit grew to 5-0 in the third, the Spartans found the back of the net by taking advantage of a power play with 12:22 remaining in the game. A goal from
Riley Doyon with assists from
Shawn O'Malley and
Roberts Baranovskis put AU on the board.
- AU out shot Trine with 22 shots on goal.
