- AU fell behind 14 seconds into the game and trailed 1-0.
- Midway through the opening period the hosts added a goal and the Spartans now trailed 2-0.
- As the game remained 2-0, the Spartans got on the board late in the second period.
- Lauren Martel broke through for AU at 15:14 on an assist from Lexie Martinez.
- The Spartans carried a power play into the third period but CUW scored short-handed 13 seconds into the final period.
- CUW added another goal in the third and AU would fall by a 4-1 score.
