The Aurora University Spartan women's basketball team was lights out from the field as AU defeated the visiting Cougars of Concordia University Chicago 91-76 on Wednesday night. A trio of Spartans scored 20 points or more with
Meija Rabi and
Alyssa Brems both tallying double-doubles.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Spartans used a 13-0 run in the late part of the first quarter to soar past CUC and led 21-11.
- AU would lead after one quarter 25-16.
- The second quarter saw the Spartans continue to expand on the lead and with 5:24 left, AU led 37-18.
- The Spartans took a 42-24 lead to halftime, led by 17 points from
Julie Galauner.
- CUC tried to chip away in the third quarter but not until AU built a game-high 21 point lead at 47-26.
- AU led by 15 (62-47) after three quarters of action.
- The Spartan lead never got within single digits the rest of the game though the CUC press and hand-check defense created some fits for the Spartans.
- Down the stretch, AU went 13-of-14 from the free throw line to seal the contest.
- AU gets back to .500 on the season and is now 5-1 in the NACC with a 91-76 victory.
