The Aurora University men's volleyball team took on their third consecutive nationally ranked team on Wednesday night and the Spartans battled fiercely with No. 3 Carthage College but fell 3-0.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Spartans went right at the highly ranked Red Men and midway through the opening set, AU led 17-14.
- After a Carthage run, the Spartans jumped back ahead and led 22-21 and 24-22.
- AU would fall in the first set 29-27.
- The second set played out just like the first with the Spartans going point for point with Carthage.
- AU fell in the second set 25-23.
- The Spartans trailed early in the third set but used a pair of runs to claw back into the set.
- Carthage would have the matches final run and defeated AU 25-22.
