Overtime did not go well for the Aurora University men's basketball team as the Spartans dropped a road NACC contest at Rockford University 108-102 in overtime.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-Â AU jumped out to an 8-2 lead behind two early three's from
Tyler Carlson.
- After Rockford got back in the contest, the two teams traded the lead for a better part of the first-half before going to halftime tied 42-42.
- The Spartans opened the second-half with an 11-0 run and led 53-42 with 17:23 to play.
- Though Rockford answered with a 17-5 run and led the Spartans 59-58 with 12:30 left.
- And just like was the case in the first-half the teams went on to trade the lead for the remainder of the contest.
- With 1:17 left to play, the game was tied at 84-84.
- In the final minute, the Spartans turned up the defense and didn't allow a Regent shot until a desperation heave with time running out.
- Though with 13 seconds left, Spartan
Bailey Vance had two free-throws with the game tied. He missed both which allowed the game to head to overtime.
- Rockford jumped out to an early five point lead in overtime.
- MIdway through overtime, a
Brandon James layup pulled the Spartans to down one at 90-89.
- That unfortunately was as close as AU would come though as the Spartans fell 108-102.
