Spartans celebrate senior night with win over Regents

The Aurora University women's volleyball team celebrated senior night 2019 and defeated Rockford University 3-0 (25-14, 25-7, 25-15) on Wednesday night on Lancaster Court in Thornton Gymnasium.

HOW IT HAPPENED -
- The Spartans recognized the two seniors of the class of 2019-2020 prior to the first serve with Karli Chambers and Makayla Fincher being celebrated.
- AU dominated the first set, winning 25-14 behind seven kills from Sydnei Avery and a .405 attack percentage.
- In the second set, AU led 9-5 when Imani Freeman stepped to the service line. Two Rockford timeouts and a shoe tie delay later, AU led 19-6.
- A kill by Julia Wood on a free ball that found the floor ended the set at 25-7.
- Addy Gruse led the way with four kills in the set 
- AU Head Coach James Seitelman turned to some reserves in the third and final set.
- Not missing a beat, AU went on to win 25-15 for the 3-0 set win.
- Karli Chambers and Madison Leone had three kills a piece in the final set.

- Senior Karli Chambers had six kills.
- Senior Makayla Fincher had six digs.
- Sydnei Avery had 10 kills.
- Miranda Cada had 25 assists and three kills.
- Julia Wood had 23 digs
- Harleigh Holder had 15 assists.

Next action for the Spartan women's volleyball team comes on Friday, October 18 when they travel to Milwaukee School of Engineering. Match time is set for 7:00 p.m. in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
