HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Spartans scored early, as
Salvador Garcia found the back of the Eagle's net on a rocket shot from 30 yards out. The score came in only the fourth minute of action, giving AU the 1-0 lead.
- Edgewood would answer back quickly, with a goal in the eighth minute, tying the score 1-1.
- The remainder of the first half was a back and forth battle, each team seeing opportunities to score, but neither able to pull ahead. The game would go into halftime tied, 1-1.

Christian Duarte broke the tie in the 48th minute, when a scramble in front of the Eagle net resulted in a Spartan goal.
- The Spartans out shot the Eagles, 20-8 and would go on to win the game 2-1.
