The Aurora University women's hockey team remained unbeaten in thrilling fashion, coming from behind before winning with 24.8 seconds left in overtime on an
Emma-Lee Martel goal. Martel and
Olivia Matson eached had two goals in the win while
Chiara Pfosi stood strong, stopping 39 of 42 shots sent her direction.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The first period was scoreless between the Spartans and Foresters.
- The game remained scoreless with Spartan net-minder
Chiara Pfosi making several remarkable saves to keep the game scoreless.
- With 7:41 left in the second, Spartan
Olivia Matson broke the scoreless tie with a wrap around stuff shot. AU led 1-0.
- But just 59 seconds later the Foresters tied the game back up 1-1.
- Lake Forest added a goal later in the second and the Spartans trailed 2-1 going to the second intermission.
- 5:25 into the third,
Emma-Lee Martel scored an unassisted goal to tie the game up at 2-2.
- A short time later it appeared that the Spartans had grabbed a 3-2 lead but goalie interference was called on the play, taking the tally off the scoreboard.
- At 10:05 of the third, a redirected shot found its way past Pfosi and AU trailed 3-2.
- With the game winding down, the Spartans struck again. Matson scored her second of the game with 3:58 left and the game was knotted 3-3.
Olivia Monzel and
Lexie Martinez assisted on the game tying goal.
- Both teams had scoring chances in the final minutes but the contest remained tied with the game going to overtime.
- As the overtime period approached less than 30 seconds left, the Spartans made a rush. After an initial attack missed, the puck was swung around the zone.

Nicole McKernan sent the puck to
Marissa Dunbar. Dunbar sent the puck across ice to
Emma-Lee Martel. Martel sent a shot in from the point and the puck got past the Forester goalie for the game winning goal.
- The Spartans celebrated the game winner and remaining unbeaten with a 7-0 record.
