NACC Tournament Final sweep sends AU to NCAA's

The Aurora University women's volleyball team started slow but ended up dominating the 2019 Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Tournament Championship on Saturday, November 9 againstĀ #2 Concordia University Wisconsin. The Spartans won handily in three sets and the win sends the Spartans back to the NCAA Division III Women's Volleyball Championship field for the third straight season.

BEYOND THE BOX -Ā 
- AU advances to the 2019 NCAA Division III Women's Volleyball Championships.
- The Spartans receive an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament for the first-time.
- AU played in the NACC Tournament final for the fourth consecutive season, all against Concordia Wisconsin.

HOW IT HAPPENED -
- The Spartans fell behind 4-0 to open the NACC final and later trailed 15-10.
- Following a timeout, a 7-1 AU run gave the Spartans a lead they wouldn't give up and went on to win 25-22.
- AU dominated the second set with Kaycie Wenzel picking up three service aces and opening the set 8-0.
- The Spartans ran off and took a commanding 2-0 match lead with a 25-16 second set winner.
- The third set was closely contested with AU grabbing a three point lead at 15-12 following a monster kill from senior Karli Chambers.
- CUW managed to rebound and grabbed a 19-18 lead.
- The battle tested Spartans never wavered though as they out scored the Falcons 7-2 with a kill from Chambers ending the match in a 25-21 AU winner.
