The Aurora University men's hockey team went into the third period with Adrian College tied 2-2 but a pair of goals from the visitors sent AU to a 4-2 loss on Sunday night at Fox Valley Ice Arena

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Spartans trailed 1:12 into the game with the visitors getting on the scoreboard first.
- Midway through the first the Spartans went to the games first power play and made the visitors pay.

Connor Chilton scored the power play tally with assists from
Brayden Sampson and
Adam Keyes.
- A few minutes later at 14:19, Spartan Liam Stirzinger powered his way down the far boards off a pass from
Drew Doyon. Stirtzinger was able to light the lamp with his top shelf goal from a tough angle along the goal line.
- The Spartans led 2-1.
- Adrian would tie the game later in the period with a power play tally.
- AU and Adrian were tied 2-2 after one period.
- The score remained tied 2-2 in the second with a potential turning point early in the period when the Spartans were unable to capitalize on a 5v3 power play.
- The teams headed to the second intermission tied 2-2.
- Early in the third it looked like Adrian has grabbed a 3-2 lead but a penalty was called on the Bulldogs which wiped away the goal.
- Just after the AU power play ended, the Adrian player in the penalty box came out to a loose puck and won a 1v1 battle with Spartan
Josh Boyko.
- Adrian added a 5v3 power play goal with 1:58 left in the game.
- AU fell by a 4-2 final score.
